Retired dad books once in a lifetime trip for his WHOLE family with £50,000 Sun Raffle win

A SEMI-RETIRED dad-of-two whisked his family away to Disney World after scooping a whopping £50,000 with Sun Raffle.

Kevin Flanagan, 61, scooped the massive sum back in September.

The chuffed dad had been entering The Sun Raffle every day since it started – but he never dreamed he’d be a winner.

Kevin and his wife Sylvana, also 61, decided to plan a luxury family holiday with their unexpected windfall – jetting off to Florida with daughter Lisa, 38, her husband Stephen, 39, son Paul, 35, and their two grandchildren.

Kevin says: “I still can’t believe it to be honest. Nothing like this has ever happened to us before, and it’s not likely to happen again.

“As much as you enter, you never think it will be you who wins.

“It really is unbelievable.”

Once they’d confirmed their win, Kevin and Sylvana started thinking about how to spend their jackpot prize.

Kevin, from Watford, Herts, adds: “We’d been talking about going to Florida as a family for a few years, but it was always something that was way in the future.

“When we won the £50k we looked at booking the trip for the whole family.

“When we told them they were so excited.”

“My seven-year-old grandson couldn’t stop asking when we’re going – he’s only just starting to experience some of the bigger theme parks, so he’s looking forward to going on the big roller-coasters, and my step-granddaughter is a fan of the Harry Potter films so she’s looking forward to that.

“Sylvana and I might stay on a bit longer and explore more of the USA too.

“We’re also planning on giving some money to the kids and grandkids to help them out, and we’ll probably use some for new furniture and home improvements – our porch could do with a bit of TLC so that’s next on the list.”

Kevin has been a Sun reader all his adult life, and buys the paper six days a week.

He said: “I’ve been a Sun Savers member and playing The Sun Raffle since it started.
“We tend to save up our Sun Savers fivers and use them for gifts or days out.”
